We had dreams of exploring Tayrona national park but we happeend to plan our trip at the worst possible time! the Park was closed so instead we decided to spend 24 hours in Santa Marta!
Santa Marta is Colombia's Oldest City and yet most of the blog post about what to do in Santa Marta tell you to leave it.
We spent the day walking around the colourful streets, down the esplanade (Malecón de Bastidas).
Too cool off from the Caribbean heat we hung out in Simon Bolivar Park (Parque Bolivar) before heading to the local market to see if we could find some bathers for our upcoming trip to Cartagena!
We tried our first ever Menu Del Dia or menu of the day and we are officially obsessed!
There is no better way to end the day in Santa Marta than with a sunset beer on the beach!
