  • THIS IS VAN LIFE CANADA!? (A Chaotic 48 hours of Canada Camper Van Life)

🇨🇦 We didn't think it would be this stressful! But when you choose to try out renting renting a camper van during the shoulder season I guess it's reasonable to think some places might be closed. In this video we pick up our Camper Van from Karma Campervan in Vancouver and navigate the first 48 hours of canada van life on our way to Banff. We make it as far as Revelstoke where we happen to find some free camper van sites. Finally, after some Avalanche warnings the next day we hit the road and head into Banff national park and getting our first sites of the incredible mountains we are spending the next few days amongst! We love Canada Vanlife

  • 🇨🇦 TRUSTED HOUSE SITTERS REVIEW (House sitting around the world)

Trusted house sitters is an absolute life saver and so much fun, so we decided to do a full review on it! Get 20% off your sign up by following this link: https://trustedhousesitters.pxf.io/jordanandemily and using the code JORDANEMILY20 at checkout. We wouldn't have even thought about coming to Squamish if it hadn't been for a 10 day house sit here right at the perfect time. But we are SO glad we came. Squamish is a gorgeous town nestled in the mountains where a lot of people who are craving adventure gather. There are endless rock climbing paths, bouldering, hiking, watersports.. literally anything adventure, it's here. We spent the 10 days more or less exactly as this video shows except for our first day where we hiked up the sea to sky trail! In this video we look after a gorgeous dog named Mysa (Pronounced Mee-sah, we got this wrong for the first few days!) walk to local shops, grab a beer and explore Squamish town. We also give an overview of how we use trusted house sitters to plan and afford our world wide travels! This is a bit of a different one but we hope you like it! #trustedhousesitters #housesitters #Housesitting #trustedhousesittersreview #housesittingincanada

  • 🇨🇦 Sea to Sky Hike in Squamish BC (Adventure Capital of Canada!)

It's harder than we thought. We set out to climb the sea to summit trail (Which is the hiking path of the sea to sky gondola) thinking that it would only take us 3 hours or so. Back in Australia our hiking times are generally half of what the time allowance is. We were wrong. Maybe because we were trying to film or maybe because Canadians are super humans but the Sea to Sky Hike in Squamish BC took us the entire 5 hours to complete. We trudged through snow, clambered over tree roots, scrambled up rocks and were completely wrong about how long of the trail we had left at pretty much every opportunity. With all that said. It was an incredible day and we loved the pay-off of the view and a nice beer in the cafe/pub at the top. Taking the sea to sky gondola back down really showed us the magnitude of what we hiked and we were honestly pretty proud! We LOVE Canada and Squamish. And theres so much more to see!

  • 🇨🇦 BEST CANADIAN FOOD IN VANCOUVER (DIY Vacouver Food Tour)

SO. MANY. GOOD. FOODS. We knew we were going to love poutine because its made up of 3 of the greatest foods of all time. But we were completely suprised by the rest. Who knew that a butter tart (Which we had never heard of before) would be as life changingly delicious as it was. In this video we are once again on foot around Vancouver British Columbia trying our own DIY Vancouver food tour. Meaning that this is technically our first time trying Canadian food. We start strong with an Iced Capp and get better from there. This is one of our favourite food tours in the last 6 months, the filming probably suffered a bit because of how much we were enjoying the food and Poutine! OH WELL! Thanks for watching!

  • VANCOUVER IS UNDERRATED (Vancouver Vlog)

🇨🇦 New contender for our FAVOURITE city in the WORLD! Wow, Vancouver is incredible. If this city is anything like what we can expect from the rest of British Columbia then it looks like we're in for a good time! Normally when we get into a new city we would immediately google something like 'things to do in Vancouver Canada' but in this case, we didnt! and are instead, very unprepared. Vancouver is a modern city surrounded by snow capped mountains yet somehow boasts incredible beaches, pedestrian walks and parks everywhere! We fell in love with the city and the people who are incredibly nice, its a positive stereotype and so far, its true. In this video we destroy our legs by walking farther than we have in a long time, all the way from the science centre, through stanley park and back out to gas town. We had such a good day and wouldnt change a thing though. Even though nothing was planned, we ended up getting some pretty incredible first impressions of Canada. #vancouver #vancouvertravelvlog

  • Seattle to Vancouver Bus (Amtrak Thruway Connector Bus)

Overland Border crossing are never fun. Speaking from experience, they can get pretty uncomfortable and sometimes involve bribes that we did NOT budget for. Today we are nervous about yet another border crossing as we take the Seattle to Vancouver bus onboard the Amtrak thruway connector bus. From what I understand, the bus exists because the demand for the train service has gotten so high and Amtrak couldn't provide enough services so they outsource the trip to a bus company. In this video we leave our comfortable house sit in Seattle, Washington and board the bus ot take us 3 hours accorss the America Canada Border into Vancouver, British Columbia. The only thing we have prepared is our Australian passport and are really hoping that's enough! #seattletovancouver #seattletovancouverbus #amtrakbus #amtrak #greyhoundbus

  • SEATTLE, WASHINGTON ON A BUDGET (First impressions of Seattle)

🇺🇸 Seattle is our FAVOURITE city... so far 🇺🇸 Trying to stick to our $100 a day budget means we often miss out on a few things (I'm looking at you, space needle) and Seattle is no different. In this video we collect our first impressions of seattle while trying to spend as little money as possible! We start at the Starbucks reserve roastery before trying the fancy Amazon Go store for the first time. Honestly, people seem to not care, but it's still a pretty big deal to us. We then get told off for filming at the Amazon spheres before heading to the epic space needle and sculpture park. We finish the day failing at getting on a water taxi (Budget, again) and instead head to what can only be described as a themed arcade on pier 57 called Miners Landing. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed making it!

  • SEATTLE FOOD TOUR (Must try food in Seattle, Washington)

Seattle Food is incredible! Coming off the back of another food tour in Portland, we had similar expectations and were very quickly blown away! we walked through the pike place market, tried beechers cheese and even had coffee from the first ever starbucks! But the best thing was the crazy seattle invention, the Seattle Dog. Join us as we run the streets trying all the famous seattle food and finishing with some burgers from 50's drive in. watch here: #seattle #whattodoinseattle #thingstodoinseattle #seattlewashington #seattledog

  • This is America!? - Portland, Oregon (As planned by Chat GPT)

Is Artificial Intelligence your new travel agent? 🤯 We've landed in America and asked ChatGPT to plan the perfect day in Portland, Oregon and were surprised by the results! Our 'perfect' day took us to the largest independant book shop in the world (Powells Books), Washington Park, Mill Ends Park, a pod of food carts, 10 barrell brewing AND an NBA game. We also fell in love with the concept of a poshtel (posh hostel!) and stayed at the awesome Lolo Pass in Portland. • Full time Travel budget | April 2023 - $5,340.86

What you came here for: April travel budget update Breakdown of what's below: Expenses YouTube Analytics Summary Expense Report Expense by category This is a quick reference category breakdown of our expenses. Yep, you read that correctly, April was a wreckingball for our budget. Our transport budget is so incredibly high because we ended up renting a campervan for a week at $208 per day! and that doesn't include Gas or the fee's to camp. Even though we had a partnership with the company and we should see a portion of that amount refunded to us next month. It meant our April expenses started with a 6 meaning our daily budget is comfortably sitting DOUBLE what we aim for. Accommodations Expenses The prices in North America are out of control. Literally the CHEAPEST option i could find on the internet in Toronto was that $158 a night. That's an entire days budget and more than 50% of the following days budget too. (Probably why we only spent the one night there) The NYC daily spend was over our budget too but we had an expectation of that being the case in the big apple and had already accepted the money drain there. "we'll make it up in south america" we said to ourselves. The accommodation in Philadelphia was a really nice room with an ensuite but was positioned right near the huntingdon metro stop which was.... not a great area. we we're thankful there was three locked doors between us and the street! Of course, squamish accommodation was free through trusted house sitters! if we didn't have that, this budget update would be soul sucking. Trusted house sitters is amazing and you can get a 25% discount through this link: https://www.trustedhousesitters.com/refer/RAF275353/?utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=refer-a-friend&utm_campaign=refer-a-friend Transport Expenses Things to note: The numbers are different to the 'Expenses by Category' Section. that's because in that section I use the Master sheet which includes small transports like Ubers, Grabs, Taxis and short cheap trains which I thought wouldn't add any value in this section! (I kept the total the same) This campervan was not a cheap option and we could have been a bit more comfortable with a rented car and some good accommodation but we just wanted the experience and we definitely got it! #Noragrets Once we dropped the van back we boarded the Rocky Mountaineer! this was without a doubt the best partnership we've ever done. We got to experience 48 hours of pure luxury and loved every second of it. It's not lost on us that we get to experience these incredible things thanks to the viewers of this little youtube channel and it makes us so excited to see what the future holds. Once we made it to Banff we needed to get to New york. Prices to fly from the western side of Canada to the Eastern side of USA were about $650 so instead we decided to fly to the western side of Canada and catch an overnight bus from Toronoto to New York. It ended up being a pretty similar price when you factor in accommodation BUT we got to see Toronoto which was awesome!! Fixed Costs Insurance is expensive but worth it. Safety wing is our insurer of choice, they seemed to offer the most comprehensive cover especially when lots of countries needed specific types of insurance during the pandemic, they were great! - Unforauntely coming to America meant we had to increase our coverage which immediately doubled the price. But it's just something you Need to have. Adobe is the software we used to edit our YouTube videos. Epidemic sound is where we get all our music from, you can get a free trial with this link*: https://share.epidemicsound.com/i1nhpc Income Report Affiliate Income Amazon - Nothing happening here anymore, I think we need a viral video with some good cinematography before this kicks off maybe. Get your Guide - we had 18 people click on our link in April but still no purchases other than our initial success Viator - We had 0 new sessions on Viator in April and no new bookings. Licensing Agreements No licensing this month, I'm hoping it wasn't a one time thing! YouTube Analytics This is a super unusualy month for us. It looks like the vide that started to kick off again was our Serbian food video. We love that it's getting views and contributing to an income we so desperately need but we also feel like we've put in a lot of effort to our recent stuff which really doesn't seem to be resonating with viewers! Still very unsure what works and what doesnt and it feels like we learn something new or come up with a new idea everyday. Hopefully we can get a video in North America to hit the algorithm to give us a bit fo a foothold but who knows! Summary Everyday in North America has been a treat - we've got to experience so many awesome things. Renting a campervan and driving through the rocky mountains as well as getting to experience the 5 star lucury of the rocky mountaineer has left us with huge smiles. Even though it was an expensive month, we wouldn't change it! Expenses: -$6094 Income: +$753.14 Change -$5340.86 Thank you so much if you have read this far! and of course, for watching along! We wrestled with the idea of spending all our money on experiences versus knuckling down at work in an attempt to set ourselves up for the future. Ultimately, we decided that houses can burn down, investments can be lost and money can be wasted but memories can never be taken from you. We wanted to solidify those memories by creating videos. But also wanted to show people a realistic view of what a full-time travel lifestyle would cost. When I went looking for something similar they were few and far between, so I wanted to do something for the next person who comes looking. And so, a terrible and laborious google sheet was born. It's since been updated many times and is much easier to manage. All of the data here is from that sheet. Where did the money come from? When we tell people that we are travelling full-time, they tend to have the same few comments. We must have wealthy parents who are paying for everything, or that we have come into inheritance or a lottery win or something else crazy. While we both acknowledge we are very privileged to be able to even earn an income - all the money we have saved up has been solely from working full time. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
